Privacy

Privacy notice.

This notice explains how HFAP handles personal data submitted through this careers website, whether you are applying for a role or signing in as staff.

Who we are

Harvest Feed and Agro Processing Limited ("HFAP", "we", "us") operates this careers website. We are based at Ogere-Siun Road, Ajura, Ogun State, Nigeria, and we are responsible for the personal data described here.

Data we collect

When you apply for a role, we collect the details you submit: your name, email address, phone number, an optional CV or portfolio link, your cover note, the role you applied for, and the time you accepted this notice.

When HFAP staff sign in to manage the site, we collect their name, email address, a securely hashed password, their role, account status, and sign-in timestamps. We also store a session cookie so they stay signed in.

Our hosting and database providers may process technical logs such as IP addresses and request times to keep the service secure and available. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.

Why we use it

We use application data to assess your suitability for the role you applied for, to contact you about your application, to arrange interviews and site visits, and to keep a record of our hiring decisions.

We use staff account data to authenticate administrators and editors, control access to candidate information, and keep the site secure.

Legal basis

We process application data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you tick the privacy checkbox before submitting, and our legitimate interest in recruiting suitable people. Where we need to keep records for legal or regulatory reasons, we rely on compliance with a legal obligation.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened, and it may mean we can no longer consider your application.

How long we keep it

We keep unsuccessful application data for up to 12 months after the hiring decision, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. This gives us a record of the process and lets us contact you if a similar role opens.

If you are hired, the information relevant to your employment is transferred to your personnel record and kept for the duration of your employment and any required retention period.

Staff account records are kept while the account is active and for up to 12 months after it is closed, for security and audit purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. Access is limited to HFAP staff who need it for recruitment or site administration.

We may share data with service providers that host this website and its database, or that provide email and IT support, under arrangements that require them to protect it. We may also disclose data where required by law or a competent authority.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie: a secure, HTTP-only session cookie for signed-in HFAP staff. It is not used for advertising or analytics and is not set for candidates or other visitors.

Security

Passwords are stored as salted scrypt hashes, never in plain text. Admin pages require an authenticated session, and sessions expire automatically. Access to the database is restricted to authorised staff.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal data, we will notify affected people and the relevant authority where required.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw your consent. To make a request, email us with the subject “Privacy request”.

We will respond within the time required by applicable Nigerian data protection law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
